What was one benefit of the Allied forces' taking control of North Africa?

A, From there, they could move to invade Italy.
B, From there, they could stop japanese advances.
C, North Africa was the site of prisoner of war camps.
D, The Allies could moe into the Middle East from North Africa.

AND THE ANSWER IS!!! A!

Let me explain why the other options do not work.

B - does not work because Japanese advances were in the far east, too far away to have any significant presence in Africa, if at all.

C - does not work because POW camps weren't even in Africa, they were usually in Germany itself, Poland and perhaps Austria.

D - does not work because the middle east wasn't a significant player at the time, in fact it was hardly involved at all.

Option A is correct - Because we had the Sicily invasion shortly thereafter, and invaded Italy, unfortunately, we did face a disastrous defeat at Kasserine Pass...
