we need two numbers which gives 6 when multiplied and 5 when subtracted.

so the numbers are 6 and 1 because 6*1=6 and 6-1 =5.S0,

3x^2 + (6-1)x -2

3x^2 +6x -x -2

take common from first two terms and from third and fourth term

3x(x+2) -1(x+2)

take (x+2) as common

(x+2)(3x*1 -1*1)

(x+2)(3x-1)
