Brutus and Anthony gave their speeches before the citizens of Rome, after the assassination of Caesar. Brutus claimed Caesar to be an 'honorable' man who had done many good deeds for Rome and its people. At the same time he also added that because of Caesar's ambitious nature, Rome was in danger in the coming future. Hence, for thee good of Rome and its people, the step was taken. Anthony, on the other hand, presented a different picture before the people. He mocked at the definition of 'honorable man' given by Brutus. He added that it was the evil nature of Brutus that led to the murder of Caesar and not Caesar's ambitious nature.
