Multiply the radius by 2 to get the diameter.

Multiply the result by π, or 3.14 for an estimation.

That's it; you found the circumference of the circle.

Answer:

Explanation:

the straight sides are just 4.5 *2 = 9 cm

the arcs are 2
\pir * Ф/360

where Ф= 50 for this problem

and r = 8

the inner arc is 2
\pi(3.5) *50/360 = 3.05432

the outer arc is 2
\pi(8)*50/360 = 6.98131

total is 19.0356

to 3 sig figs is 19.036 :)
