Answer:

What you found were the x-intercepts of the quadratic function. Here's how you would write it- (2,0), (-9,0).

I think finding the zeroes of a function is equal to finding the x-intercepts, so I believe the two terms can be used interchangeably.

Hope I helped, have a nice day, also please correct me if I did anything wrong

Answer:

-9, 2

Explanation:

f(x) = x^2 +7x -18

Set the function equal to zero

0 = x^2 +7x -18

Factor. What two numbers multiply to -18 and add to 7

9*-2 = -18

9+-2 = -7

0 = (x=9) (x-2)

Using the zero product property

x+9=0 x-2 =0

x=-9 x=2

You can also write in coordinate pairs

(-9,0) and (2,0)
