Plug in the value of p:


\mathrm{-10=10-3y}

Now, all we have to do is solve the equation for y.

First, let's add 10 to both sides:


\mathrm{-10+10=10+10-3y}


\mathrm{0=20-3y}

Now, add 3y to both sides:


\mathrm{3y=20}

Divide both sides by 3:
