Answer:

x= 2, y= 8

Explanation:

y= 3x +2 -----(1)

y= -2x +12 -----(2)

Substitute (1) into (2):

3x +2= -2x +12

Move x terms to 1 side, constant to the other:

3x +2x= 12 -2

Simplify:

5x= 10

Divide both sides by 5:

x= 10 ÷5

x= 2

Substitute x=2 into (1):

y= 3(2) +2

y= 6 +2

y= 8
