The value of w in the figure given is 2cm

The formula for the area of a prism is ;

  • Area of base × height

Substituting our values into the formula;

Volume = length × width × height

Volume = × 5 × w × 8

80 = 40w

w = 80/40

w = 2

Hence, w = 2 cm

X = 2 cm

Volume = Bh= 8×5×1/2×X= 80

X = 80/20 = 4
