How did the expansion of public education help to Americanize immigrants

education is taught through the white perspective. Therefore, history is twisted to fit the narrative that white people/American people did not do any bad. They taught these notions and ideologies to immigrants so that the only exposure they had was to their perspectives in schools. Otherwise, they would be learning these events from other sources who could possibly be contradictory to their white perspective. They do not want that to happen, so they want to be able to control the immigrants’ values as an American.
