Help pls

Shanti is taking a cube-shaped gift to a friend's birthday party. She wants to wrap it but she doesn't have very much paper, so she does not overlap any of the edges.
How much paper did it take to cover the gift?

Answer:

1014 cm^2

Explanation:

6(sides) x 13 = 1014 = surface area

Note:

I didn't really know what it meant by "so she does not overlap any of the edges." so I just calculated the surface area. Pls, notify me if my answer is correct for the other users that will see this message.
