Explanation:

$x^2+6x=x+14\\x^2+6x-x-14=0\\x^2+5x-14=0\\(x-2)(x+7)=0\\x=2\\x=-7\\$

(you can't use -7 cuz that would make TE a negative distance and that's a nono)

$x=2\\TE=6(2)-1\\=12-1\\=11$
