personification is when human traits or characteristics are given to inanimate objects or animals. Ex: a talking dog,a smiling rock.
symbolism is the use of objects,phrases or characters that have a deeper meaning.ex: the poppet in the crucible signifies witchery
conflicts are the main points of interest in a story, they are events of high tension and extreme emotion or movement. ex: the conflict in the wizard of oz is when the monkeys and the evil witch catch dorothy in the woods
mood is the tone of speech of a story,the feeling set by the words or events that play out. Ex: the mood of harry potter is suspense
