If the equation of the line is not given but is graphed we can do in this way:

First, it's very simple to find the y-intercept: is -5 as you can see (the line touch the points -5 in the y line).

You know that the slope can be find by having two points (now we have the A(0; -5) (the y-intercept point).

As you can see, the line touch also the B(5; 2) perfectly.

Now we simply use this formula for find the slope:


s=(yB-yA)/(xB-xA)

Let's substitute the value:


slope=(2+5)/(0+5)


slope = (7)/(5)
