During a sale, a shopkeeper reduced the prices of all his goods by 25%.

Calculate the normal selling price of a pair of shoes which was sold for Rs 1350 in the sale.

1800

Explanation:

Let y represent the normal selling price

y-y×25/100= 1350

y-y/4= 1350

4y-y/4= 1350

3y/4 = 1350

Cross multiply both sides

3y= 1350×4

3y= 5400

Divide both sides by the coefficient of y whichj is 3

3y/3= 5400/3

y= 1800

Hence the normal selling price is 1800
