The weights of baskets of strawberries are normally distributed with a mean of 3.8 ounces and a standard deviation of 1.1 ounces. One grocery store advertises that the weight of their strawberries is in the 97.5th percentile. How many ounces do their strawberries weigh?

Explanation:

this one is mainly elimination. 3.8 and 4.9 cant be because they're too close to the mean. and 7.1 is too far. you can also use z-score. the z score of .975 is 1.96 we can plug that into out formula so

1.96=(x-3.8)/1.1

multiply both sides by 1.1 and then add 3.8

you can also use scientific calculator.

second vars, 3, the area is your percent so .975, the u is mean so 3.8, the o is standard deviation so 1.1
