The Taliban is strongly opposed to religious freedom, freedom of speech, and human equality. They claim the U.S. wants to destroy their way of life while the U.S. claims it only wants to bring human equality and dignity to all. Those who benefit the most from the elimination of the Taliban in Afghanistan are women and those who practice a less extreme form of Islam.
