What factor or factors make one birth control method preferable to another? Cost? Availability? Effectiveness? Ease of use? Lack of side effects? Do these factors change throughout a person's life? What would cause a person or couple to change the type of birth control they use?

Answer:

Factors associated with contraceptive choice or effectiveness of use include women's personal characteristics and childbearing goals. These factors can change throughout a persons life. Something that would cause one to change the birth control they use is definitely cost and availability and all of the above.
