Trees are important for many reasons. The most common being the carbon dioxide and oxygen exchange among plants and animals. Trees intake CO2 while releasing O and animals do the opposite. However, trees support ecological systems by providing habitats for organisms. The roots of trees also decrease the amount of soil erosion in an area.
