You mix 3/4 quart of blue paint for every 5/6 quart of yellow paint to make 4 3/4 quarts of green paint. How much blue paint and how much yellow paint do you use?

Answer: We need 2.5 quarts of yellow paint.

Explanation:

As per given, The ratio of blue paint to yellow paint is
\frac34: (5)/(6).


=3*6:5*4\\\\=18:20\\\\ =9:10

Total green paint =
4\frac34 quarts

Quantity of yellow paint required =
(10)/(9+10)*4\frac34


=(10)/(19)*(19)/(4)\\=(5)/(2)\\=2.5\ $$ quarts$$

Hence, We need 2.5 quarts of yellow paint.
