Since the first number is 10 and they say and the equation said two numbers sum - 18 therefore 10 + x equals to -18

=> 10 + x = -18

now to find the second number collect like terms make x the subject of formula

=> x = -18 -10

substract -18 from -10

x = -28

-28 is your final answer
