The U.S remined neutral in 1917 which means that U.S didn't take anyone's side. But, later on entered the war on the side of the allied power which included the countries (U.K, France and Russia). U.S women served as stenographer, clerks, radio operators, truck drivers etc. 11, 272 women joined the US navy for the duration of war. Many women provided support on the front lines as nurses, doctors, ambulance drivers, translators and sometimes on the battlefield. Over 1600 female nurses received various decorations for courage. U.S females got the right to vote shortly afterwards.
