Rectangle Perimeter = 2 Length x 2 Width
Perimeter = 124cm
Length = L
Width = L-2
2 Length = 2 L
2 Width = 2 L - (2x2)
=2 L - 4

=124cm - 4cm
= 120cm
=120/4
=30cm
Width= 30cm
Length = 30cm + 2cm
= 32

Perimeter:
=2 x 32cm + 2 x 30cm
=64cm + 60cm
= 124cm

Answer:

area = 960cm^2

Explanation:

Perimeter = 2 x (length + width) ------(1)

Perimeter = 124cm

Let length be x

Given width is 2cm shorter than length , that width = x -2

Perimeter = 2 (x + (x -2))\\\\124 = 2(x +x -2)\\\\62 = 2x -2 \\64 = 2x\\x = 32

Length = 32cm

Width = 32 - 2 = 30cm

Area = length x width

= 32 * 30 = 960cm^2
