Explanation:

-6 x + 3 = 45

collect like terms and then make x the subject of formula

=> -6x = 45 -3

note: when turning three over to the other side the plus sign change to minus

In order to make x the subject of formula we divide 45 - 3 by -6

=>
(45 - 3)/( - 6)\\

subtract 45 from 3 which gives us 42

now divide 42 by -6

=> -7
