Hershey kisses are almost a cone shape with a height of 2.1 cm and a diameter of 3 cm. How much chocolate is in a kiss?

Height of cone shaped Hershey kisses = 2.1 cm

Diameter of the cone = 3 cm

How much chocolate is in a kiss?

Solution:

In the given problem, we need to find volume of the given cone shaped Hershey kisses.

Radius is half of the diameter and diameter of the cone is 3 cm. So, the radius of the cone is 1.5 cm.

The volume of a cone is:


V=(1)/(3)\pi r^2h

Where, r is the radius and h is the height of the cone.

Putting
\pi =(22)/(7), r=1.5, h=2.1 in the above formula, we get


V=(1)/(3)\pi (1.5)^2(2.1)


V=(1)/(3)* (22)/(7)* (1.5)^2* (2.1)


V=(22)/(21)* 2.25* (2.1)


V=22* 2.25* 0.1


V=4.95

Therefore, there is 4.95 cubic cm chocolate is in a kiss.
