The equation of the line that goes through the point ( 3 , 4 ) and is parallel to the line 3 x + 4 y = 2 can be written in the form y = m x + b

Answer:

y = -3x/4 + 25/4

Explanation:

3x + 4y = 2

-3x -3x

4y= -3x + 2

4y/4 = -3x/4 + 2/4

y = -3x/4 + 1/2 mx= -3x/4

y = -3x/4 + ?

-3x/4 = Right 4, Down 3 on a graph

( 3, 4)

-4 +3

Also goes thru the point (-1, 7)

+1 -3/4

(0, 25/4 or 6.25)

y = -3x/4 + 25/4
