This sequence is arithmetic because it's going up by sane number, 3. Hence, it also linear for the same reason. The equation is y=3x+(0th term). The 0th term is the one before the 1st term, 11, which would be 8.

So the equation to finc any xth term is y=3x+8.

Example, first term is 3(1)+8=11.

Example, second term is 3(2)+8=14.

Example, third term is 3(3)+8=17.

The 42nd term is 3(42)+8=126+8=134.
