Given:

The vertical height of the trapezoid = 2.9 m

The bases of the trapezoid are 2.3 m and 9.3 m.

To find:

The area of the given trapezoid.

Solution:

The area of a trapezoid is:

A=(1)/(2)(a+b)h

Where, a, b are bases or length of parallel sides and h is the vertical height of the trapezoid.

Putting
a=2.3,\ b=9.3,\ h=2.9 in the above formula, we get

A=(1)/(2)(2.3+9.3)(2.9)

A=(1)/(2)(11.6)(2.9)

A=16.82

Therefore, the area of the given trapezoid is 16.82 square m.
