Log x + log y is the same as log (xy)

x+y=11

x=11-y

So,

log[(11-y)y]=1

log[11y-y^2]=1

The log is to base 10,therefore we can rewrite it in exponential form.

10^1=11y-y^2

y^2-11y+10=0

After solving it we obtain y=10,y=1

When y=10:

x=11-10=1

When y=1

x=11-1=10
