bc they love a person of the same sex and want to marry them. marriage can be another way to sort of celebrate the couples shared love.
im also little confused by your question and im not sure if you're asking why people prefer same sex marriage or asking what do people prefer to same sex marriage. if it's the latter i'm not sure how to answer, everyone's preference differ
