Solution:

Note that:

  • Profit percentage: S.P - C.P/C.P x 100
  • C.P = $150
  • S.P = $500

Substitute the values into the expression to find the profit percentage.

Substituting the values.

  • S.P - C.P/C.P x 100
  • => 500 - 150/150 x 100
  • => 350/150 x 100
  • => 350/3 x 2 = 233.33%

The markup percentage is 233.33%.
