Personally, I would change the mixed numbers to improper fractions and then back to a mixed number, since it’s easier to visualize.
6 1/2 = 13/2
1 8/13 = 21/13
13/2 * 21/13 = 273/26
273/26 = 10 1/2
So, the answer’s 10 1/2 :)
