Explanation:

n(A)=12

n(B)=7

n(AUB)=10

n(AnB)=?

let,n(AnB) be x

We know that,

or, n(AUB) = n(A)+n(B)-n(AUB)

or, 10 =12+7+x

or, 10 =19+x

or, 10-19=x

or,9=x

so, the value of x is 9

then (AnB)=9

Answer:

n(A) + n(B) - n(AnB) = n(AUB)

12 + 7 - n(AnB) = 10

19 - n(AnB) = 10

19 - 10 = n(AnB)

n(AnB) = 9
