Explanation:

As per question we have:

  • 2(l + w) = 414 ⇒ l + w = 207
  • l = 5w - 39

Solve it for l by substitution:

  • 5w - 39 + w = 207
  • 6w = 207 + 39
  • 6w = 246
  • w = 246/6
  • w = 41

Find l:

  • l = 207 - 41 = 166
