The state constitution of Nevada provides for the Declaration of Rights under the Article 1 which states the government role in order to protect its citizen from the act against one another. This includes, safety, equality and happiness among all people. It also includes the Bill of Rights that consists of a list of liberties that served the people of Nevada to protect the people from the powers of the government.
For example, once the Nevada government showed little disregard for the rights of the minorities that was notable with native American people. The native American was denied their full exercise from their rights as well as liberties when the settlers took the lands of the natives and when they broke any treaties regarding ownership of the land and the trade. The state government of Nevada made several reforms and took many steps to improve and provide the people their rights and liberties as provided by the Nevada constitution and the US constitution.
