Hello! I’ve been stuck on this problem for a while and—though I know the answer—I’m not sure how to get to it? Please help!

Answer:

first you will need to break the shape into a semi circle and a triangle.

then solve the area of the semi circle. which is


((3.14) * r ^(2) )/(2) \\


((3.14) * 4.6^(2) )/(2) \\ = 33.22

Then solve the area of the triangle.

First work out the height of the triangle, which is


13.4 - 4.6 = 8.8

then the area. which is


(1)/(2) 4.6 * 8.8 \\ = 20.24

now calc. the two figures. which is


20.24 + 33.22 \\ = 53.46
