The base of the pyramid is a rectangle with the following dimension (in terms of length)


Long = 6cm


Short = 3cm

For the cross-section, we have:


Long = x


Short =1.2cm

Since both are parallel, then the following relationship exist between both


Ratio = Long : Short

So, we have:


6cm : 3cm = x: 1.2cm

Express as fraction


(6cm )/( 3cm )= (x)/(1.2cm)


2= (x)/(1.2cm)

Make x the subject


x = 2 * 1.2cm


x = 2.4cm
