Answer:

a. d(x) = x

b. yes

Explanation:

a. since c(x) =
x^(2) + 1

c(d(x)) = (d(x))^2 + 1 (replace x with d(x))

that means d(x) has to be x for c(d(x)) to equal
x^(2) + 1

b. for example if you use 2 as x, c(d(x)) will equal 5 since d(x) = 2 and
2^(2) + 1 = 5

d(c(x)) will also equal 5 because c(x) =
2^(2) + 1 = 5 and d(c(x)) = c(x) = 5
