Why did the founding fathers ignore the idea that all men are created equal during the constitutional convention?

The ideals and beliefs of abolitionism barely existed back then. They grew up in a world where they saw themselves as people and slaves as property. They didn’t treat slaves like humans because they didn’t want to, or how to.
