The area of a parallelogram = base(b) × height(h)

Here the base value = 12.0 in

while the value of the height is not given but the angle of the base with it adjacent side is given that is here 45°

Let the magnitude of height or altitude be x

So the value of x can be find out by trigonometry

Here we can write tan(45°) = x/6.5 in

then the value of tan(45°) = 1

so 1 × 6.5 = x

therefore the value of x= 6.5

Now we can find the area of the parallelogram such that base × height = (6.5×12) in^2 = 78.0 in^2 (ans)

Hope it helps
