So this is just my own question. I have a 72.2 for my final grade. The exit exam is worth 10% of our final grade. The exam is 30 questions. How many questions do I need to get right to still pass the class? (an f in out grade system is anything less than 70)

Answer:

A score of 50.2% or higher, given your current class grade.

Explanation:

Note:

Since it is 10% of your grade and as long as you don't drop overall more than 2.2 points, you will pass the class.

With this, you would need to get a score of 50.2 or higher to pass the pass as this amount is 22 points lower than your current score and since it is only 10% of your final grade, it only holds a negative effect of -2.2 points if you were to get this score.

However, note that your grade in your class may change between now and your exit exam so keep attention on the assignments you currently have. This is because if your grade dropped to 71.2 prior to the exam, just 1 point, you would now need a 60.2 or higher on the test to pass, a major difference.
