He then spent S15 on lunch.
After lunch he spent two thirds of the money remaining in his wallet on a hat.
If he is left with $10 in his wallet. how much did he have to begin with? Write as an equation

Let the money alleli initially had be x

Money after buying clothes = x-(1/2)x=(1/2)x

Money spent on shoes = (1/2)x × (1/3)x=(1/6)x

Remaining money = x minus( (1/2)x + (1/6)x)= (1/3)x

Also we know the remaining money is 1000

Therefore

(1/3)x = 1000

Multiplying 3 on both sides

X = 3×1000

X = 3000

The initial amount she had is 3000
