elevation to the top of the tree is 53 degrees. Find the height of the tree.

We solve the above question using the Trigonometric function of Tangent

= tan θ = Opposite/Adjacent

θ = 53°

Opposite = Height of the tree = h

Adjacent = Point of the ground from the foot of the tree = 50 ft

Hence,

tan 53 = h/50ft

Cross Multiply

h = tan 53 × 50ft

h = 66.352241081 ft

Approximately to the nearest hundredth, the height of the tree = 66.35 feet
