difference of 2 sides < x < sum of 2 sides , that is

14 - 8 < x < 14 + 8

6 < x < 22

By Pythagoras theorem ,


AC^2 = AB^2 + BC^2 = 14^2 + 8^2 = 196 +64 = 260\\AC = √(260)\ inches
