a) What number is added to both sides so the left side is a perfect square trinomial?
b) After adding the answer from part a) and factoring the left side, what is being squared on the left side?

a) 25

b) the square root of 36 should be done

Explanation:

x² - 10x = 11

take half of 10 and square it

x² - 10x + 25 = 11 + 25

(x-5)² = 36

x-5 =
√(36)

x - 5 = 6 and x - 5 = -6

x = 11 and x = -1
