you just have to find the area of each shape individually and add them!

As we can see, we have a square base and 4 triangles. each triangle has the same area because the base is a square and they all have a height of 5. so, the area of a triangle is


a = (1)/(2) bh

thus, each triangle is


a = (1)/(2)( 7 * 5) = (1)/(2) (35) = 17.5

since we have 4 triangles we can add this together 4 times or multiply by four.


4 * 17.5 = 70

now, we just need to add the area of the base. the area of a square is


a = {s}^(2)

or


a = s * s

so, the area of the square is


a = {7}^(2)

or


a = 7 * 7

which both equal 49.

now, we can add 49 to our sum of the area of our triangles, so

70+49= 119in
