Identify a theme from The Hunger Games and explain how it is developed in the text. Then, compare and contrast this theme with a theme from The Giver. How are they similar? How are they different?

The hunger games and the giver both represent dystopian societies. In the hunger games, people are forced to participate in these unethical games. In the giver, the have unethical rules. Both are in forced situations.

Hello! I have read both books:

The Hunger Games and The Giver represents the theme of Utopia and Dystopian. In the hunger games, Katniss’s home would be considered the Dystopia while the city she went to to participate in the games would be seen as a Utopia. The Giver was similar because the town they lived in was seen as a perfect Utopia, but in reality, it was a perfectly hidden Dystopia. The difference between these two books and their theme is the fact that The Giver’s dystopian and Utopian society was the same place, just hidden. The Hunger Games represented separation where there was a dystopian world and a utopian world perfectly separated to maintain population.
