AB = 21

Explanation:

Since B is the midpoint of AC , then

BC = AB

2x - 11 = x + 5 ( subtract x from both sides )

x - 11 = 5 ( add 11 to both sides )

x = 16

Then

AB = x + 5 = 16 + 5 = 21
