When equilibrium has been established explain in terms of reaction rates why the concentration of reactants and products remains the same.

Answer:

When a reaction has reached equalibrium, the rate of the products formation is equal to the rate of the reactants formation. In this case, as soon as H2CO2 is formed, enough breaks apart to not change the concentrations of either the products or reactants.
