Is the ordered pair

(

3
,

4
)
a solution on the graph of
y
=

2
x
2
+
3
x

4
,
and why?

No. For an
x
-value of

3
on the graph of
y
=

2
x
2
+
3
x

4
,
the
y
-value is

31
because

2
(

3
)
2
+
3
(

3
)

4
=

31.
No. For an x-value of negative 3 on the graph of y is equal to negative 2 x squared plus 3 x minus 4 comma the y-value is negative 31 because negative 2 times negative 3 squared plus 3 times negative 3 minus 4 is equal to negative 31 point

No. The coordinates are reversed because when
y
=

3
,
x
=

4
;
therefore, the point
(

4
,

3
)
is the correct point on the graph of the function.
No. The coordinates are reversed because when therefore, the point open paren negative 4 comma negative 3 close paren is the correct point on the graph of the function.

Yes. For an
x

the
y

Yes. The point
(

3
,

4

represents a solution to the equation because when
x

4
,
y
=

3

therefore,
(

3

is a point on the graph of the function.
Yes. The point open paren negative 3 comma negative 4 close paren represents a solution to the equation because when therefore, open paren negative 3 comma negative 4 close paren is a point on the graph of the function.

Answer:

no, because for x=-3, y would have to be -31

Explanation:

boy oh boy (or girl oh girl) - you wrote this in a horrible, horrible format.

I can only guess what your problem and the fitting answer would be.

y = -2×x^2 + 3×x - 4

-4 = -2×(-3)^2 + 3×(-3) - 4

-4 = -2×9 - 9 - 4

-4 = -18 - 9 - 4

-4 = -31

and that is wrong. for (-3,-4) to be on the graph of the function, y would have to be -4 when using x=-3 in the function. but y = -31 for x= -3.
