Maximum value of the miles run = 10

Minimum value of the miles run = 5

Range of the data set = 10 - 5

= 5 miles

From the dot plot of End of school year,

Maximum value of the miles run = 10

Minimum value of the miles run = 6

Range of the data set = 10 - 6

= 4 miles

The range at the start of the year was 5 miles and the range at the end of the year was 4 miles.
